Our History

Who we are

Our humble beginnings were on Elliott Street in Beverly. We started with a small charming 600 s.f. shop. When the neighbors left, we added their space to ours. For several years we called Elliott St. home. Unfortunately, we constantly waded through a ton of water and storms. We then made the decision to move to Salem. Our large 6000 sqare foot showroom allowed us to show people how we could turn a diamond in the rough into a beautiful functional space. Life happens, things change, the purple awnings are gone. And due to the market, our large showroom is no more.

The good news however is the people that made Harmonious Interiors now Harmony In Design the user friendly, customer oriented full service design service it is known for are still going strong.

For many years, Harmonious Interiors, now Harmony In Design has offered quality design services, tested and proven home furnishings and accessories, intriquiging style and innovative design.
We offer in home consultations, custom bedding, custom drapes and Home Staging.

All those things, coupled with our outstanding customer service and sense of style make us one of the North Shore's premium decorating and design resources.

Although the showroom is gone, we still offer all of the same services as before. The only difference is we no longer are able to provide you with samples to sit in and try out. Often however, most purchases were made through our catalogs anyway.

So as you see although things have changed, things also remain very much the same.

AIDS RESPONSE SEACOAST'S

This was our participation in helping to benefit a worthwhile charity. We were granted the parlor which was the main room in the Showhouse. It was a magnificent old farmhouse that has suffered from years of neglect. The house was designed by one of America's best-known architects, Ralph Adams Cram, as a wedding gift for his sister.

The funds raised from this event helped people living with HIV/AIDS, as well as help for preventing transmission and new infections by supporting Prevention Education.
